In many parts of the world, columns of steaming hot water can be found shooting up from Earth's surface. These boiling fountains are known as geysers. The existence of geysers suggests that the Earth is extremely hot. The geysers form in e steam and hot water erupt into the places where water drains down a deep channel in Earth's surfaces. At the bottom of the channel, hot rocks heat the water into steam. When the pressure becomes great enough, the steam and hot water erupt into the surface in a sudden explosion. Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming is well known for its numerous geysers and hot springs. Visit Yellowstone today, and you too can see evidence of Earth's hot interior.
